Dragon Boat Club “Dnestr”: Where Passion Meets Purpose
In 2022, the Dragon Boat Club “Dnestr” was born out of a shared dream to bring the vibrant sport of dragon boat rowing to Tiraspol, Moldova. Inspired by the energy and spirit of teamwork, the club emerged under the guidance of the NGO “Association of Health and Sports,” with its longstanding commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and fostering community connections.
Our Mission
Dragon Boat “Dnestr” is more than a team; it’s a force for connection, empowerment, and change. Our mission is to harness the dynamic spirit of dragon boat rowing to promote an active and healthy lifestyle while championing inclusivity and gender equality.
We strive to create a supportive space where women of all ages, particularly those over 45, can rediscover their strength, challenge societal expectations, and thrive both on and off the water. Through teamwork, determination, and the unifying power of sport, we aim to bridge divides, foster understanding, and build a stronger, more connected community.
At Dragon Boat “Dnestr,” every paddle stroke is a step toward greater empowerment, collaboration, and a brighter future for all.
Two Teams, One Dream
Today, Dragon Boat “Dnestr” is proud to field two distinct teams. Our mixed team, consisting of both men and women of all ages, is a dynamic group that thrives on the energy of diversity. Alongside them is our incredible women’s team, comprised of inspiring rowers aged 45 to 65. These women prove every day that age is just a number, paddling with a determination and strength that inspire everyone around them.
Rain or Shine, We Train
Dedication defines our club. Training sessions happen three times a week, no matter the weather. Whether under the summer sun, in the crisp autumn air, or during a gentle winter drizzle, our teams come together to paddle, connect, and push their limits. Each practice is a testament to our unwavering commitment to growth and excellence.
Big Plans Ahead
Looking forward, Dragon Boat “Dnestr” aims to expand its reach and impact. We’re not just preparing for more local and international competitions; we’re building a community where anyone can find their place on the water. Our dream is to see dragon boat rowing flourish across the region, inspiring more people to embrace its unique combination of fitness, teamwork, and fun.
